DIODE LASER - HAIR REMOVAL
The diode laser system can emit laser light of 808nm wavelength. It can be absorbed by the melanin located in the hair follicle, so as to destroy the hair follicle. The hair shaft can also absorb the energy from laser lights, so as to be destroyed and gasified. Then the unwanted hair can be removed completely and permanently. ADVANTAGES

How does the treatment work
Laser Hair Removal works by directing concentrated light to target the hair follicle at the root. The laser inhibits the hair’s ability to grow without disrupting or damaging the skin’s surface, so even the most sensitive skin can be treated, it can also help reduce ingrown hairs and inflammation due to hair growth.
Nearly all areas of the human body are treatable
Our lasers produce a near infra light which targets the pigment in the hair follicle. This light then generates heat within the hair follicle to sever the connection between the follicle and its blood supply destroying hair in the active growth stage only.
One of the benefits of Laser Hair Removal is that the treatment is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing. Each pulse lasts less than a second, producing a slight tingling and warming feeling. We use an advanced cooling machine in conjunction with our laser device to reduce the heat sensation on the skin and minimise any discomfort.
With each session, hair is reduced. We recommend an initial course of 6-12 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart (depending on area and skin tone).
Is laser hair removal permanent? - No lasers can claim to have achieved 100% permanent hair removal. However, Lasers can, in most cases, achieve permanent hair “reduction” with approximately a 70% – 90% reduction in hair growth. Laser hair removal achieves the best results for people with fairer skin and darker hair, however our laser technology allow us to treat a variety of skin and hair types. Laser hair removal is not suited to blonde, red, grey or white hair.
These results are dependent on the individual and can be influenced by such things as skin type, hair colour, and hormones. Permanent hair reduction may not be achieved by all clients, the vast majority of these clients are females with fine facial hair or members of both sexes experiencing varying levels of hormonal activity such as puberty, pregnancy or menopause.
The number of laser hair removal sessions required before you see permanent results is influenced by several things. Everyone’s hair is different – the colour, texture, volume and growth rate vary from individual to individual. There is no blanket answer as to how many treatments are needed for to get results using laser hair removal, but we suggest between eight to twelve treatments are generally required to achieve up to 90% permanent hair reduction.
There is no 100% effective permanent hair removal solution available, but laser comes close. Providing up to 90% permanent hair reduction and accounting for the fact that any regrowth is notably finer and softer, laser remains the most convenient, painless and cost-effective solution available.
Pre care for Laser Hair Removal Treatment
- Shave 24 hours, unless face after first treatment as we need to see what is left so we can pin point the correct area.
- Do not wax in the 4 weeks leading up to your appointment as pigment is required in the hair follicle for the laser to identify the hair and treatment to be effective.
- No fake tan within 2 weeks, or washed as best as possible.
- No sun beds.
- Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for 2 weeks prior to your treatment and always protect the skin with sunscreen.
- No Oral or Topical Retionids used within the last 2 months
After care for Laser Hair Removal Treatment
- For 24 hours post-treatment, avoid shaving, waxing, or plucking hair, exfoliation, excessive sweating, swimming or saunas, very hot showers, and tight restrictive clothing.
- Continue normal routine, cleansing, exfoliating, moisturising. May find that area is a little extra dry due to shaving and extra moisturiser may be needed for a few days.
- Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for 2 weeks after your treatment and always use sunscreen to protect the skin.
- HYPOPIGMENTATION / HYPERPIGMENTATION: (Changes in skin colour): – During the healing process, there is a slight possibility that the treated area may become either lighter (hypopigmentation) or darker (hyperpigmentation) in colour compared to the surrounding skin. This is usually temporary, but, on a rare occasion, it may be permanent.
